Birthday Party Preparations

January 27th, 2010

Miss Leyba turns two in three days.

And goes to college in 16 years.

Time is going by WAY TOO FAST!!! I think I feel faint…

Sorry, back to the point of this post: to show you the invitations and goody bags.

I’ve had such fun working on her “Happy Caterpillar” birthday theme.

These are the invitations I whipped up and sent out to Miss Leyba’s three closest girl friends:

I sent them in green envelopes punched with holes and included artwork from the book: miniature fruit printed on card stock, just in case the caterpillar on the invitation needed a snack. Look how much he ate! What a hungry caterpillar!

I also made some stickers for the girls’ goody bags:

I’ll post about the decorations soon.

We’re almost ready to go!

Counting down…

January 22nd, 2010

to her birthday! (one week and a day to go!)

If she’s not talking about opening presents or telling me how she’s turning 2, then she’s singing the “Happy Birthday to you!” song!

Here’s a video of her singing:

Movie: Happy Birthday To You! from Carrie on Vimeo.

Now you know why we haven’t posted any movies lately. Every one we take ends up being about Miss Leyba begging, “I want to take the picture!”

Two Year Retrospective

January 21st, 2010

A photo a month for the past two years:

In so many ways she has gotten so big, yet I still feel as though she’s the same little girl she’s always been.

Being a parent is so fulfilling and rewarding. I never imagined I’d be having this much FUN or be loved so strongly by my daughter (the kisses! the hugs! the “I love you, Mommy!” messages melt my heart!).

And, wow, do David and I love her fiercely.

And she’s almost two! I may be in a state of shock over here.
